Abbreviations:
- Chain(s) = Ch
- Half double crochet = Hdc
- Single crochet = Sc
- Slip stitch = Sl st
- Back loop only = BLO
- Stitch = st
Pattern of the Easy Crochet Beanie
Row 1:
Start with ch 30, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in the next 2ch, sc in the next 3ch, hdc in the next ch across the row. [29st]
Row 2:
Ch1, turn, working in BLO, sl st in the first st, sl st across the row. [29st]
Row 3:
Ch1, turn, working in BLO, sl st in the first 3st, sc in the next 3st, hdc in the next st across the row. [29st]
Row 4:
Repeat row 2.
Row 5 – 41:
Repeat row 3, 4 until reach the desired length
– Fold your work in half so short ends are on top of each other, sl st all the way across to join or you can sew the 2 ends together.
– Weave the yarn using tapestry needle up and under every few rows around the edge of your beanie until reach the starting point.
– Sew the button to the wrong side of the top point of the hat to tie the pompom through it.
– Roll up the brim and now the beanie is ready.
