Today, I’m excited to share a simple and beginner-friendly tutorial on the crochet wave stitch. This versatile stitch is not only beautiful but also incredibly easy to create.

The Crochet Wave Stitch
Wavy ripple patterns in blankets and afghans are especially appealing during summer, offering a soothing and serene vibe. The crochet wave stitch, used to achieve these mesmerizing designs, is both elegantly simple and creates a clean, three-dimensional texture in the fabric.
The beauty of this stitch lies in its simplicity and how incredibly addictive it is to create. Perfect for beginners, it’s easy to learn and fun to crochet!

Uses
The texture it adds to the fabric is truly remarkable. If you’re looking to crochet blankets, afghans, or scarves, this stitch is an excellent choice. Additionally, it works beautifully for creating cardigans, pillow covers, or cozy hand warmers.

How to make Crochet Wave Stitch
To craft this stunning pattern, you’ll need a 1.6mm crochet hook and green and white yarn. Feel free to customize the colors to suit your preferences!

Time to switch the color. Now, we will switch to white yarn. Make 4 single crochet stitches and a chain of 7 chain stitches. Insert this chain in the single crochet stitch row just beneath your 1st crochet wave stitch (which we made using green color yarn)
Your 1st crochet wave stitch in white yarn is ready. Make another chain of 7 chain stitches and insert it on the single crochet row just under the 2nd crochet wave stitch in green color yarn.

In this way, make 4 crochet wave stitches and close the row by making 4 single crochet. Just like you made in the beginning of row.
Switch color whenever you are starting a new row.
This stitch also provides room for creativity. You can also add a new different color for each row, as per your choice.
